As many daydreams and doomed projects as I have still ostensibly inprogress, there are many more that have been abandoned or simply forgotten. These are preliminary sketches, color tests, layout mockups, and random whims connected with projects that are not likely to be pursued further. None is significant enough to post in my regular gallery, but perhaps they might be amusing en masse. We'll start with these 2 Red Yasha curiosities. The idea here was maybe a weekly single panel cartoon featuring Yasha in her red bikini encountering some mundane annoyance. The unspoken punchline is that SHE WILL HAVE HER REVENGE! Hello again. More idle doodles. Still working on finding the right way to draw Dixie. Here's a couple sketches. Her hair is highly inaccurate, but I like it so much better this way. And here we have a rare Makoto, though she may be in her heel state as The Black Belt Demon. I don't get much practice drawing petite girls, so you don't see her here often. It's not that I don't like her, it's just that my pencil is much more likely to idly produce a woman somewhat more Rubenesque than little cutie pie Makoto.

So I'm pursuing the notion of making some convincing full body animation projects, and since I recently stumbled upon the lovely idea of Miss Spencer doing an '80s workout video, it only makes sense that the two concepts merge. This is very much a work in progress, but it's promising. A few more frames in the middle (and then tons of tweaks and cleanup) and she should be ready to get your adrenaline pumping. Wouldn't it be great to have a Rumble Roses Saturday morning cartoon? Unhappily, I won't have much time this weekend to follow through on ill-conceived, half-assed animation projects, but here's a little tease of something that may happen eventually. In, like, 16 years.
